Hos Fi.ecorroom.eu haluamme inspiroida juuri tähän – luomaan kauniita asioita yksinkertaisin keinoin.
Sinun ei tarvitse olla puuseppä tai suunnittelija onnistuaksesi DIY-projekteissa.
Usein riittää hieman aikaa, mielikuvitusta ja oikeat materiaalit, jotta voit luoda jotain todella kaunista.
Haluatko:
Things to consider first
Style: Scandinavian minimal (smooth board), rustic (visible wood grain), classic.
Common dimensions of the board: Length: 60–100 cm (hallway), 40–60 cm (bathroom/guest toilet)
Height: 60–90 mm
Thickness: 16–22 mm (enough for stable mounting)
Distance between hooks: 12–16 cm is ideal for clothes; 8–10 cm for kitchen/keys
Height on the wall: Adults: 160–170 cm to the center of the hook
Children: 100–120 cm (consider giving kids their own row)
Step 1. Cut the board to the desired length and sand all sides.
Step 2. Measure the placement of the hooks. A good tip is to draw a centerline along the board so the hooks align evenly.
Step 3. Pre-drill the holes with a smaller drill bit than the screw size. Apply masking tape before drilling to reduce splintering.
Step 4. Hold the rack against the wall where you want it mounted. Use a spirit level and mark the mounting points. Don’t forget to use wall plugs if needed.
Suggested dimensions: 45–55 × 25–35 cm, thickness 18–22 mm.
Step 1. Cut the board to your desired size and sand the edges.
Step 2. Measure and mark where on the short sides your handles will be placed.
Step 3. Pre-drill using a smaller screw size than the handle screws. Ideally, use a countersink bit so the screw head is hidden underneath.
Step 4. Screw the handles in from underneath. Check that the screw length fits properly. Our handles include M4 screws – 25 mm, suitable for a thickness of 18–22 mm. (We also sell screws in other lengths.)
Step 5. Attach felt or rubber pads in the corners so the tray stands steady and doesn’t scratch the table.
💡 Tip: Match the finish of the handles with other home details (e.g. brass with warm walnut → a luxurious hotel vibe).
Step 1. Choose style and color theme: Decide on the mood you want – modern, playful, or elegant. Feel free to mix hooks in different colors, sizes, and materials (like here with pink, green, pearl, and white against a soft green wall).
Step 2. Plan the layout: Lay the hooks on the floor first to see the overall composition. An asymmetrical but balanced arrangement (like in the image) feels lively and natural.
💡 Tip: Take a photo of your layout before you start drilling!
Step 3. Measure and mark: Measure where each hook will go. Use masking tape to mark height and spacing – that way you avoid marks on the wall.
Step 4. Mount: Carefully drill into the wall and attach the hooks following our instructions using the included screws. Use wall plugs if needed, especially for plaster walls.
Step 5. Decorate with details: Leave a few hooks empty for an airy look, and hang something light on a few – such as a plant, a small textile, or jewelry.
