Handles in chrome and nickel are very popular in Swedish kitchens and bathrooms. They are often matched well with other details in the kitchen such as faucets and sinks.

Most metals are coated with some form of alloy, and one of the most common alloys is chromium and nickel. Nickel-plated handles and knobs are easier to produce compared to chrome fittings. Both look very similar in color, and it can be hard to tell the difference. Those with a really good feel for alloys can see that nickel plated fittings are slightly warmer in color while chrome gives almost a mirror effect, and is a bit more bluish in tone.

Fittings in chrome or nickel are shiny and give a shiny appearance. Watch out for fingerprints! The glossy, shiny appearance is often perceived as a bit exclusive and makes your furniture stand out.
